HOW TO SUPPORT

A Unified Approach

The Foundation strengthens communities by promoting Self-Help Groups (SHGs), empowering women through savings, credit access, and skill development. VOs provide coordination and support, while Federations amplify SHGs’ collective voice, unlocking greater opportunities. This structured approach fosters lasting economic resilience and community growth.

Self-Help Groups
(SHGs)
Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are community-driven organizations dedicated to enhancing the economic and social well-being of their members, primarily women. Typically consisting of 10 to 15 individuals, these groups empower women by providing a platform for decision-making, raising social concerns, and driving collective action, ultimately fostering community development.

Village
Organisations
Village Organizations (VOs) serve as umbrella bodies that bring together multiple SHGs within a village or community. These organizations provide essential coordination, guidance, and support to SHGs, ensuring their sustainability and efficiency. VOs help in accessing larger financial resources, resolving common challenges, and strengthening collective bargaining power.

Federations
Federations act as apex organizations that unite multiple Village Organizations and Self-Help Groups, amplifying their collective voice and influence. These federations play a strategic role in advocacy, resource mobilization, and policy engagement, enabling SHGs and VOs to access financial and institutional support at a larger scale. By focusing on long-term sustainability, governance, and expansion, federations ensure the continued success of grassroots initiatives.
