VEGETABLE - OPEN FIELD

Net/Poly houses are a much advanced and much more expensive technology to venture our project areas. Cumulatively, over 190 farmers have opted for this technology. This program is supported by the government. The farmers are also motivated to raise nurseries of high-quality chilli, brinjal, and tomato.

Under these nurseries, 5,00,000 seedlings were raised and supplied to 1000 farmers. Similarly, 70 lakhs seedlings of quality onion were raised. For these vegetable crops quality seedlings and bare quality were supplied to 5600 farmers during the season including for kitchen gardens and regular cultivation. This is very good coverage under quality seeds and seedlings. Exorbitant yields and income are taken by the farmers using this technology.

For example, a farmer has earned about Rs. 90,000 under a month from quality cucumber cultivation. He is expected to earn another Rs. 1 lakh at least in one month; thereafter, he would opt for a variety of vegetables in the remainder year, earning additional income in two more seasons of a year.
