We have seven taluka level horticulture cooperatives equivalent of taluka level federation for horticulture. These horticulture cooperatives are involved in the expansion of horticulture programmes, including expanding vegetable and splice cultivation programs by women farmers. They occasionally have also provided interim finance for the purchase of improved variety of seeds, when timely support is not available from any other institution. Without these cooperatives’ actively involvement in extension, vegetables and spices cultivation at a great scale is not possible.
