Lift irrigation (LI) federations provide the crucial support to primary lift irrigation cooperatives, which actually operate, manage and maintain their individual LI schemes. LI federations also became the nodal agency in providing farm inputs and providing package of practices (PoPs) under the support and collaboration of CInI and its experts. They also take up demonstration plots of a new variety of wheat successfully. Such self-organization has resulted in the improvement of agriculture-related activities.Lift irrigation federation in Dahod and Banswara contributed significantly to agricultural improvements, particularly in the production of improved seeds and ensuring use of these improved seeds by large number of farmers as reflected in the agriculture chapter.
Jhalawar LI federation took up demonstration of Soyabean which is an important crop in that region. Limkheda LI federation took up vegetable program through its members.Jhalod LI federation, which has been involved in business activities, installed sprinkler system in 2,000 hectares of 1,200 farmers. This federation has installed sprinkler and drip irrigation systems in the fields of 7,000 tribal farmers, a unique activity by a tribal irrigation federation.
